“Inside the Mind of a TWC Hearing Officer”

On May 7, 2014, Kerry O’Brien was the featured speaker for the Austin Bar Association Labor & Employment Law group’s monthly meeting, speaking to local employee and employer attorneys on the Texas Workforce Commission appeals process. As a TWC hearing officer, Kerry handled over 800 appeals on unemployment benefits. Now, for the past six years in private practice, Kerry has represented hundreds of clients in unemployment appeals, wage claim appeals and Rule 13 tax hearings. The presentation, called “Inside of the Mind of a TWC Hearing Officer,” provided Kerry’s insight on how to help the client win what is often a very important hearing for them.
