O’Brien Law Firm helps insurance adjusters get over $200K in back pay through the NLRB

In March 2017, the O’Brien Law Firm helped 6 hardworking insurance adjusters obtain a total award of back pay and personal expenses of over $200,000 (after attorney fees) for their terminations. Once these adjusters got ahold of Kerry O’Brien, he promptly filed complaints on their behalf with the federal National Labor Relations Board, Fort Worth Regional Office, and assisted the agency with their enforcement action. The NRLB’s pursuit of these complaints led to the back pay payments, as well as offers of reinstatement. In addition to issuing checks to the law firm’s clients and two other terminated adjusters, the employer was required to publicly post a notice at the work site notifying all of the remaining adjusters of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act, which includes the general right of an employee at a private company to make complaints to management about working conditions on behalf of themselves and their fellow employees. This is a situation where the initiative of these terminated employees helped lead to changes for the benefit of current and future employees at the company.
